TruckaGet a truck

Three services people mix up with us

Roadie, Curri, and uShip all move things with trucks, and none of them is really an on-demand truck-and-driver service for your couch. Each one is excellent at its actual job. Here is what that job is, so you pick the right tool instead of the nearest logo.

Roadie

UPS-owned crowdsourced same-day delivery. Gig drivers take packages and odd items along routes they are already driving, envelope-sized up to the occasional couch.

Use them when

Sending something across the state cheaply and you are flexible on timing. Roadie's driver is often already headed that way, and the price reflects it.

Use a truck and driver when

A two-person couch haul up a walk-up, a washer swap, or anything needing loading help and a truck bed. Delivery-along-a-route is a different product than a dedicated truck and driver.

Curri

Last-mile logistics for construction and industrial suppliers: flatbeds, box trucks, and hotshots moving building materials from supplier to job site, weekday-heavy.

Use them when

You run a supply house or a job site and need lumber, pipe, or fixtures moved on a schedule with a logistics team behind it. That is exactly what Curri is for.

Use a truck and driver when

Consumer stuff. A Marketplace dresser or an apartment move-out is not their product, and their pricing and dispatch are built for B2B freight.

uShip

A bidding marketplace for shipments: you post the job, independent carriers bid on it. Strong for long-distance, vehicles, boats, and freight where you have days to compare offers.

Use them when

Moving a car, a piano across the country, or bulky freight where waiting for competitive bids saves real money.

Use a truck and driver when

Same-day and local. Posting a listing and fielding bids takes days; a couch you bought this morning needs a truck this afternoon.

Descriptions reflect publicly available information about each service and may change; check their sites for current specifics.

And when the job is a couch

A Marketplace find, an IKEA run, a student apartment in one load: that is Trucka's whole job. A local driver, a truck sized from your photo, and a price you approve first.

Head-to-head instead? Trucka vs Lugg, Trucka vs Dolly, Trucka vs GoShare, Trucka vs U-Haul, or Trucka vs TaskRabbit.
