How it works
One price. One driver.
Trucka is a marketplace with two sides: people who need something hauled, and local drivers who own pickups, cargo vans, and box trucks. Here's exactly how each side works.
If you need something moved
- 1
Tell us pickup and dropoff
What needs moved, where it's going. About a minute. Your number becomes your account, so your receipts and delivery photos have a home.
- 2
Pick your truck size
Trucka for a pickup truck, Trucka XL for a cargo van or long-bed, Trucka Box for the biggest items or a whole load at once. Need muscle? Add a helping hand for $35 flat and your driver loads with you.
- 3
See your price up front
The price shows before you book. If it works, book it. If it doesn't, no charge and no hard feelings.
- 4
A vetted driver shows up
You get the driver's name and truck before they arrive. You load, they haul, and if you added the helping hand they're lifting right beside you.
How the price works
Simple: a base fee plus distance. Bigger truck, bigger base. Longer haul, more on top. That's the entire formula.
You see the full price before you book, and it's the price you pay. There's no hourly meter running while your couch gets wedged in a stairwell, no surge pricing on a Saturday, and no fees bolted on at the end. Most jobs run $60 to $150.
If the number doesn't work for you, say no thanks. You're never charged for asking.
If you've got the truck
- 1
Apply with your truck
Two minutes on the form. Name, phone, city, and what you drive. Pickup trucks, cargo vans, and box trucks all work.
- 2
Pass vetting
We check your license, your insurance, and run a background check. We also review photos of your truck.
- 3
Accept jobs near you
Jobs hit your phone with the pickup spot and the pay. Take the ones you want, skip the ones you don't.
- 4
Accept jobs, get paid fast
You see the exact payout on every job before you accept it. The number on the job card is the number you get.
What "vetted" actually means
Every driver passes all four checks before their first job. Not most of them. All of them.
License check
A valid driver's license, verified before the first job. No exceptions.
Insurance check
Every truck on the platform carries insurance, and we confirm it's current.
Background check
Every driver clears a background check before they see a single job.
Truck photo review
We look at the actual truck. If it can't carry a couch safely, it doesn't haul for Trucka.
Questions people ask
What fits in each truck size?
Trucka is a pickup truck: a couch, a mattress, a dresser, a Marketplace find, or a dump load. Trucka XL is a cargo van or long-bed for bigger loads, several pieces at once, or anything that needs to stay out of the weather. Trucka Box is a box truck for the biggest items, or a whole load in one trip.
Who does the loading?
You do. The base price covers the truck and the driving: you load, your driver drives. Want help? Add the helping hand for $35 flat and your driver loads and unloads with you. Flights of stairs and heavy pieces add a little more, priced upfront. For heavy two-person pieces like a sleeper sofa, it still helps to have someone on your end.
Can I ride along?
Sometimes, if there's room in the cab and the driver is comfortable with it. Most customers meet the driver at the dropoff instead. Message your driver once they accept and ask.
What if I need to cancel?
Plans change. Cancel right from your trip screen any time before the hauling starts. You aren't charged until the job is done and confirmed.
What about insurance if something gets damaged?
Every driver carries insurance and we verify it before their first job. If something goes wrong, report it right from your trip screen. Your delivery photo and trip record are already attached, so claims get worked out fast.
When do drivers get paid?
Drivers see their exact payout on every job before they accept it, and they get paid out shortly after the job wraps. No chasing customers for cash, no waiting on a monthly check.
Which cities is Trucka in?
New York, Washington DC, and San Francisco. We're starting with three cities and doing them properly before we add more.
Do I need an app or an account?
An app, no. An account makes itself: your phone number becomes your account when we verify it with a quick code. That's where your receipts and delivery photos live, and it's how your driver reaches you.
