These are the rules for using Trucka. We kept the legal padding out so you can actually read them. Using the site or booking a job means you agree to what's here. These terms are under review by counsel and may change; the date above moves when they do.

1. What Trucka is

Trucka is a Utah marketplace. It matches people who need furniture or household goods moved with independent local truck owners who do the moving. Trucka runs the matching, the checks on drivers, the messaging, and the payment tools. Trucka does not own trucks, employ drivers, or move anything itself. Trucka is not a motor carrier and is not a moving company.

2. Who you are hiring

When you approve a quote, you form a service agreement directly with the driver who accepted it. The driver is an independent business, not a Trucka employee or agent. Trucka is the venue for that agreement: it introduces you, passes the quote back and forth, records the photos and the receipt, and handles the money through Stripe. The driver is responsible for the driving, the loading if you added a helping hand, and the care of your items while they are in the truck.

3. Quotes, approval, and payment

You describe the job and add a photo of what is moving. Trucka returns a quoted price based on truck size, distance, and any add-ons you chose. A driver can accept that quote or send a requote. Nothing is charged until you approve the number. If the job on site is genuinely different from what you described, the driver can decline or ask for a change, and that change also needs your approval before the job continues.

Payment runs through Stripe. Your card is authorized when you approve the quote and charged when the job is complete and confirmed. The amount you approve is the amount you pay. Trucka charges the driver a platform fee for each booking; that fee is between Trucka and the driver and is not added to your price. Tips go to the driver in full.

4. Cancellations

Cancel any time before a driver accepts and you owe nothing. Cancel after a driver has accepted your quote and a small cancellation fee applies to cover their commitment. Cancel once the driver is on the way and part of the base quote is charged for their time. The amounts show on your trip screen before you confirm a cancellation, never after.

5. What Trucka jobs are, and are not

  • Furniture and household goods. Couches, dressers, mattresses, appliances, flat-packs, a student room. A few items, not a packed house.
  • Inside Utah, both ends. Pickup and drop-off are both Utah addresses. Trucka will not create a job that starts or ends outside Utah or that is one leg of a longer shipment.
  • Pickup and long bed only. No box trucks, no trailers.
  • Under $3,000 per job. Larger jobs are a different kind of service and Trucka does not quote them.
  • Not a mover. No packing, hoisting, piano moving, storage, or full-service relocation. For a household move, hire a licensed mover.
  • Not disposal. Drivers do not haul to landfills or transfer stations. Usable items can ride to a donation dock or a buyer.
  • Not hazardous. No refrigerant work, fuel, chemicals, tires, dirt, liquids, or anything illegal or dangerous to move.

6. Driver terms

Drivers own their trucks and run their own businesses. Before a first job, every driver provides a valid driver's license, a commercial auto policy with for-hire coverage, cargo coverage, the truck's weight rating, photos of the truck, and clears a background check. Drivers keep those documents current; an expired one pauses offers until it is replaced. Drivers hold any business license the cities they work in require. Drivers choose which jobs to accept, work when they want, and are free to work for anyone else. Drivers see the exact payout for each job before accepting it and are responsible for their own taxes, vehicles, and insurance.

7. Damage, claims, and limits

Every job has a pickup photo and a drop-off photo taken by the driver, and they are attached to your trip. If something is damaged or missing, report it from your trip screen within 48 hours of completion. Trucka holds the driver's payout while the claim is reviewed and works it out with you and the driver, drawing on the driver's cargo coverage first.

Trucka's own liability is limited, not waived. For any claim connected to a job, Trucka's total liability is capped at the amount you paid for that job. Trucka is not liable for indirect losses, like a missed workday or a canceled event. Nothing here limits liability that Utah law does not allow to be limited.

8. Your receipt

When a job completes, Trucka issues a receipt that records what moved, the pickup and drop-off addresses, the driver's name, the approved price, and the two photos. It serves as the record of the goods and the agreement for that job and lives in your account.

9. Disputes

Contact us first. Email hello@trucka.io or reply to your booking text, and a person will dig in. Almost everything gets solved this way. If we truly can't sort it out, either side can pursue the matter in small claims court in Utah.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of law rules.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we update this page and the date at the top. Keep using Trucka after a change and the new terms apply. If a change matters, we'll say so plainly, not bury it.
