Lehi has a furniture problem that Provo does not. The stores are mostly north of Point of the Mountain, the Marketplace pool is split between two counties, and the townhomes on Traverse Mountain have stairs that were designed by someone who never carried a sectional. Here is how people actually get furniture home in Lehi, and what each option really costs.

The options

The friend with a truck. Free, once. In Lehi the friend usually lives in Saratoga Springs or Eagle Mountain, which means the favor starts with a forty-minute drive before anything gets loaded. Fine for a chair. Expensive in goodwill for a couch.

Rent a truck. There are rental counters along Main Street and up in Draper. For a whole apartment they are the right answer. For one dresser, the day rate is the smallest part: you are driving to the lot, standing at the counter, driving an unfamiliar vehicle over the Point, refueling, and returning it. Store delivery. The big showrooms deliver, on their schedule, often days out and often with a delivery window that eats a workday. Great for a planned sofa. Useless for the Marketplace dresser that has to be gone by tonight.

Ship it. IKEA and the online stores will ship to Lehi. It works, it costs what it costs, and it takes days. The box that did not fit in the cart today is still in Draper.

A truck and driver on demand. This is what Trucka is: you send what and where with a photo, a local truck owner with a pickup or long bed picks it up, and it is at your door usually the same day. You get a quoted price before you book and approve it before anyone is charged. A short run from the Draper IKEA to Traverse Mountain sits at the low end; a multi-piece Marketplace pickup from Saratoga Springs with a helping hand added sits higher.

What moves the quote

The quote is a base fee for the truck size plus distance, plus any add-ons you pick. In Lehi the things that move it are:

  • Distance. Lehi is the closest city in Utah County to the Draper IKEA, so that run is short. A pickup from the far side of Salt Lake County or from south county is longer, and the quote says so before you book.
  • Truck size. A pickup covers a couch, a dresser, or a normal IKEA cart. A long bed covers a sectional, a wardrobe, or a full apartment of flat-packs. Your photo picks the tier.
  • Helping hand. Add it and the driver loads and unloads with you. Traverse Mountain stairs are the reason most Lehi bookings add it.
  • Stairs and heavy pieces. Small add-ons, in the quote, only when you add the helping hand, because they price the driver’s effort.

Nothing changes after you approve. If the piece on site is genuinely different from the photo, the driver can send a requote, and that needs your OK too.

The Lehi-specific advice

Book the Draper run in the afternoon. IKEA’s loading zone is calmer after lunch, and a driver who is already in the north end of the county can often be there in under an hour.

If the listing is in Salt Lake County, book anyway. Draper, Sandy, and Herriman are all fair game for a Lehi delivery.

If you are moving from a Provo contract to your first Lehi lease, that is one long-bed load, not a household move. Book it for your date and skip the borrowed trailer.
